We’re always looking to offer all of our students the best help and support that is available for them. We create an article weekly that highlights the best resources. This week we have decided to inform our learners about the best GCSE Biology revision materials and how to use them effectively.

Learners often make the common mistake with GCSE Biology revision by attempting the past papers before being comfortable with the entirety of the course. This wastes perfect materials and more importantly will leave the learner unmotivated as they will receive a poor grade back on that exam. To prevent this we always advise having a foundation of knowledge before attempting these GCSE Biology past papers. Before moving onto the past papers we recommend that students give practice questions a go first to see if they are ready for the past papers. If they are doing well on the questions it will show that you are ready for the papers.

When you move onto the past papers students should sit them in exam conditions to give an accurate representation of what the final exam will be like and where you currently are. After completion of the paper, it should be marked with the relevant mark scheme to identify areas of need. Once aware of these areas learners should study them before the next past paper. Once this method has been used repeatedly, students will see an improvement of their average grade which shows the effectiveness of this method.
