What is the Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Online Exam?
The Maths online exam is essentially for people who (for whatever reason) were unable to get a C or equivalent grade in GCSE Maths. It consists of 2 sections, both will be taken at once and in the comfort of your own home. No need to travel to an exam center, so there’s no hassle.

The Full Exam Process
The first step would be to book the exam itself, then select the time and date you want to take the exam. The next step would be to revise for your Maths exam, for this we have a multitude of different resources to help you pass your exam. This includes a Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Course, which is a comprehensive course going through everything you would need to know. Another would be our Functional Skills Past Papers.
On the day of your exam, you will be contacted by email by your own personal exam invigilator. They will invite you to a Zoom Meeting, where you will go through checks to ensure that you are taking the exam in exam conditions. After that is confirmed, they will observe you as you take your Maths exam.
The final step is receiving your results. Once your exam has finished you will have to wait for your exam to be marked by the exam board, then returned to us. Then we will email you the results, depending on said results we will also provide a certificate in the situation you have passed.

The Exam
The Exam itself consists of 2 parts, the first being the non-calculator Paper, which will last for 30 minutes. It will consist of multiple Maths questions that you will have to answer without a calculator. The second part of the exam will be the Calculator Paper, which will last 90 minutes. Again this paper will consist of multiple Maths questions, but this time you will be able to use a calculator (one will be present on the exam itself).
Note that you cannot use a scientific calculator! These 2 parts of the exam will be taken all at once, you will be unable to take them at different times. And unlike the English exam where you can fail one and only have the take the one paper you failed. You will have to take both the Non-Calculator and the Calculator Paper if you fail.
The Qualification
If you pass the Functional Skills Maths Level 2 exam. You will receive your Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Qualification. Which will be the equivalent to a PASS grade (grade C/4) in GCSE Maths. By receiving your qualification, you will have access to multiple opportunities that were previously out of reach. Including higher-level jobs, university courses, college courses, apprenticeships, and other course routes
