Functional Skills

Functional Skills as a whole is an Ofqual approved qualification. Today we will be going through the Functional Level 2 Qualifications, which are the equivalent to a PASS grade in GCSE for Maths and/or English. The qualification is widely accepted and allows you to gain access to University courses, College courses, Apprenticeships, and other course routes. Extremely useful for those who, for whatever reason, we’re unable to get a PASS grade in GCSE that wish to go into higher education or may require the grade for a job.

The Exam itself will be challenging for those who have not studied either Maths or English for a number of years, as the exam, you would be taking will be as hard as the original GCSE one. Here at Functional Skills Level 2, we aim to inform you of all the resources you have at your disposal to help you pass your exam(s).

While there are numerous different resources across the web, we don’t recommend using those created before 2019, as the qualification itself was reformed. So any resources from before then are for the wrong exams. A good resource, in general, would be our courses, which we provide for both Maths and English, these will cover everything you need to know for your exams. Another would be our Practice and Past Papers, which will give you excellent, hands-on experience with what it’s like to take the exam. And lastly, a good resource would be the revision cards, which help break down information into bite-size chunks.
