We constantly assist our students in selecting the appropriate course of action, whether that be a GCSE or a Functional skills level 2 equivalent. These exams are typically taken to qualify for entry to a university, a higher education programme, or an apprenticeship. We want to learn as much as we can about the student so that we can give them the best option available. Typically, this means providing a Functional skills level 2 equivalent, however on rare occasions, a GCSE exam is the answer. The functional skills exam is more frequently recommended because it is generally simpler to pass, yet some employers would only accept a GCSE certificate.

Around 35 topics make the level 2 maths equivalent, which may at first seem overwhelming but is quickly accepted after a solid knowledge base has been established. You should make sure you are prepared and comfortable with the course material before taking the exam. The exam is more flexible than the GCSE because you can take it whenever you’re ready and can be sat at home through a centre that is approved by Ofqual.

When foreign students who have not yet had the opportunity to gain an English qualification they may find it tough to find a solution, we generally propose the level 2 English equivalent. Most businesses require this qualification, which is commonly recognised by employers.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us right away if you are interested in either functional skills or a GCSE. No matter their age or ability level, we are always delighted to assist any learner and provide the greatest guidance and materials available.
