GCSE Resits
With GCSE results day 2022 has come round and there are many people who are very happy with the results but there are also people who are left to consider GCSE resits in both maths and English. Students who have failed to achieve a level 4 in both GCSE maths and English are pushed to take a resit or look at alternative qualifications such as functional skills maths level 2.
We have great pass rates here at Functional Skills Level 2 and we pride ourselves on that. This means that we do not get many existing learners needing to take GCSE resits. We do get many approaches though from new students who have not been successful in gaining their GCSE qualifications elsewhere. Functional skills maths and English are the perfect choice for many as it is GCSE equivalent and is accepted by most Universities and employers around the country, including apprenticeships. There will be courses that learners are wanting to take that may require a level 4 qualification or higher, so they will have to book a GCSE resit in this instance. From tuition to revision we provide whatever we can to assist learners in achieving their goals. We also provide guidance in booking the exams and that can be done through the following links:
For those who just require a level 4 then the functional skills level 2 maths and English qualifications are the best option. There are many good points to make note of when it comes to the level 2 exams in comparison to the GCSE retakes.
- You are free to take the exams from home
- The amount of content to consume in the course is considerably less
- Results come back in 2 weeks and not 2 months
- You can sit the exams all year round, whenever you want
The route that you take will depend on your goals and personal circumstances as most people will have very different aspirations to others.
